Whether you've got children or help with family and friends there's much anticipated excitement for the Summer Holidays and the welcome break from the morning school run chaos and stresses of doing homework, but with the break from routine comes it's own set of challenges.
Family commitments, holidays and a break from your usual routine combined with the pressures of keeping children entertained can and will impact on rising stress levels! So, how can we find a little breathing space in amongst the chaos of Summer? One simple and incredibly powerful way is to incorporate exercise in to your day whenever possible.
Not only does this support your physical wellbeing, it significantly significantly impacts your sleep, enhances your mood, and improves your overall mental well-being.
For many of us, training and going to the gym become a sanctuary, a place to refocus, refresh and recharge. That's why it's so important to create that space that's just for you. Exercise releases endorphins, the body's natural mood boosters proved to make the world of difference in how you feel.
At The Fitness Collective, our 45-minute sessions are designed to fit seamlessly into your daily life, offering a workout filled with our famous banter and an awesome coaching team that will lift your spirits and promote relaxation. This, in turn, leads to better sleep and more energy to tackle the day’s activities and those ongoing snack challenges children present on an hourly basis"
While the gym is a fantastic place to train, don’t overlook the benefits of outdoor workouts, especially during the holidays when cabin fever sets in... for everyone! Being outdoors is a refreshing alternative that’s not only good for the body but also for the mind and soul. Whether it’s joining our Tuesday run club with TFC Coach Michael, a dog walk through the local park or our Saturday Outdoors sweat sessions, being outdoors in nature can significantly enhance your exercise experience.
The benefits of outdoor training.
The mental health benefits of outdoor training are profound. Natural surroundings help reduce stress, anxiety, and feelings of depression, promoting a deep sense of well-being. Fresh air and sunlight work wonders on your mood and sleep patterns, thanks to the increased levels of serotonin and melatonin.
Physically, outdoor workouts challenge your body in ways that indoor training sometimes can’t. The varying terrain, weather, and natural obstacles encourage improved balance, coordination, and agility, contributing to better overall fitness.
But it’s not just about the physical benefits. Outdoor training and the ever changing scenery keeps it interesting and for some, more sustainable.
